Abstract

Nuclear Compton scattering at intermediate energies is considered, evaluating the Delta-resonance contribution to the scattering amplitude within a local-density approximation to the Delta-hole model. The effects of the background contributions in modulating the resonant amplitude are also investigated and the results of the calculation are compared with recent data of the cross section on C12 and He4.
