UAVs in architectural survey are nowadays widely used to collect detailed geospatial information. The ever-increasing diffusion of drones, however, is still often accompanied by a negative perception. This perception is related both to the object itself and to the privacy issues concerning the acquisition and storage of potentially sensitive data. These concerns and the cultural and social environment in which drones are used have a strong impact on how local communities perceive them. This paper wants to show how local communities in diverse urban contexts, such as the case studies of Pavia and Bethlehem, include similarities in the perception of UAVconducted investigation operations.
