Abstract

Multilayer LB films of poly-3-BCMU, a polydiacetylene whose structural and electronic properties are of interest for non-linear optics, were fabricated and investigated by means of FTIR-ATR and Raman spectroscopy. To enhance the Raman signals, samples were transferred onto a glass waveguide properly fed to perform the measurements. A comparison of these tests with the analogous experiments on spun films confirms the superior quality of the LB films as to the electron delocalization and the related non-linear optical properties.
