Many open questions regarding the study of reaction mechanisms with heavy ions have still to be solved in the energetic range from 5 to 20 A.MeV, which is covered by the accelerating system Tandem XTU – Linac ALPI of the Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro. The GARFIELD apparatus is a composite and general-purpose set-up, designed to perform exclusive measurement which are necessary to get new important information and better understanding both on nuclear structure problems and reaction mechanisms studies. Preliminary results, obtained with the GARFIELD facility, on the Giant Dipole Resonance damping, production mechanisms of multi-fragment final states and measurements of cross sections relevant for radiotherapy, will be presented.

Abstract
Many open questions regarding the study of reaction mechanisms with heavy ions have still to be solved in the energetic range from 5 to 20 A.MeV, which is covered by the accelerating system Tandem XTU – Linac ALPI of the Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro. The GARFIELD apparatus is a composite and general-purpose set-up, designed to perform exclusive measurement which are necessary to get new important information and better understanding both on nuclear structure problems and reaction mechanisms studies. Preliminary results, obtained with the GARFIELD facility, on the Giant Dipole Resonance damping, production mechanisms of multi-fragment final states and measurements of cross sections relevant for radiotherapy, will be presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
