Poly orthoesters are the most intensively studied polymers for biomedicalaplications for their low immunogenicity, good biocompatibility and excellent mechanical properties. In the last decade, the synthesis of polyester-polyether block copolymershas attracted increasing attention, because they may be used in several pharmaceutical and medical aplpications such as sutures, implants for bone fixation, carriers in drug delivery systems. The article is aimed to review multiblock copolymers made of PEO and PLA/PLGA synthesis and application in the pahrmaceutical and biomedical field. Attention is focused on the newly polymer strucutral modification that can improve polymer activity such as drug release, cell adhesion and proliferation.
