A teaching sequence based on computer simulations of historical physics experiments is presented. In particular, Boyle's experiments on the compression and expansion of air have been selected for their emphasis on the fundamental concepts of hydrostatics. Attention is drawn on the environment we tried to create by inserting computer simulations in a multimedia approach. Testing our material with students in high school and introductory physics courses we have modified the initial strategy and decided to prepare an hypertext which is briefly illustrated.

Abstract
