The effects of a brief trial of two fungal supplements, Ganoderma lucidum and Ophiocordyceps sinensis (well known as Cordyceps sinensis), in cyclists engaged in contests of "Gran Fondo" are reported. The type of race provides a path that goes from 160 to 200 km, lasting about 4 hours, at an average speed of 36 km/h. The path is made particularly hard by the slopes and the technical difficulties. Fungal supplemental effects on biomarkers of oxidative stress and of overtraining syndrome have been studied. The effects are evaluated by the comparison of the data just before and after physical exercise.
