Abstract

Identifying the processes linked to soil-atmosphere interaction which control the hydrological and mechanical behavior of a soil slope is becoming of crucial interest in order to define shallow landslides triggering factors and to assess the susceptibility towards these phenomena. In this work, a multidisciplinary study of a slope affected by shallow landslides was conducted through soil samples laboratory analysis and continuous field monitoring in an area of Northern Italy to recognize the different responses of unsaturated zone to rainfalls and the influence of these features on shallow landslides triggering.
