In this thesis work are shown the activities done during my Ph.D. relative to the prototyping of a medical device for a contactless evaluation of the cardiovascular system expected by the NISTAS European project. The parameter used to perform this evaluation is the Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) that is currently calculated starting from the eco-tracking that need contact with the patient and long time to perform the detection. The objective is then to develop a device that perform a fast and contactless detection of the status of the cardiovascular system by using optical sources and sensors. This work shows the creation of the final prototype and demonstrate that is possible to measure the PWV with a good precision.
