The thesis was focused on the study of the photochemistry of aryl tosylates and N-arylsulfonimides, with regards to their employment as photoacid generators (PAGs) for cationic polymerization and photolithography. It was found that these compounds are able to photorelease sulfonic acids and to promote the polymerization of epoxy moieties as well. Some perfluoroaryl sulfonates were instead successfully tested as initiators for EUV lithography. Finally new PAGs were developed for applications in supramolecular chemistry.
Nella tesi si è studiata la fotochimica di aril tosilati e N-arilsolfonimmidi per impiegarli come photoacid generators (PAGs) per la polimerizzazione cationica e la fotolitografia. Si è dimostrato che tali composti sono in grado di fotorilasciare acidi solfonici e promuovere anche la polimerizzazione di gruppi epossidici. Alcuni perfluoroaril solfonati sono stati invece testati con successo nella litografia EUV. Infine sono stati sviluppati nuovi PAG per applicazioni in chimica supramolecolare.
