Abstract

This study project, carried out at the Laboratory of Landscape Construction and Architecture of the University of Pavia, concern the requalification an area of Ticino’s River landscape and the landscape renewal of an area comprising the port of the Naviglio canal and the area of the exhibition complex. This area represents identity of important part of the urban framework of the city. The research focuses on the water systems present in Pavese territory, which involve complementary aspects at different scales of intervention beginning from the origin of the structure to the transformations that the natural and built environment have undergone. The study of these complex areas require a deeper examination of the role of the natural water systems, environmental, morphological and infrastructural factors inherent in the architectural design process and landscape. In that way the sensitisation to ecology system as a landscape status become a measure of how many comparable environmental characteristic exist at different levels of scale, from the local to the global dimensions. Take in care land topography, physical and historical geomorphology of the ground, by paying attention to existing water systems resource in relationship to architectures could point towards discover a new energy opportunities for the city development.
