Abstract

Italy wasn’t included in the Carnegie Study on the Academic Profession (1992). Yet, in the decades before the Changing Academic Profession Project was initiated two major surveys on the Italian academic profession were carried out. We shall review the main results of these researches looking for findings regarding the themes of the CAP project, namely relevance, internationalisation, and management, and we shall present some first insights on these themes from the data which have just been collected through the Italian survey of the CAP Project.
