The paper considers the reform policies enacted by the centre-right governments in the decade 2001-2010 in the framework and context of new liberal agenda. It shows how those policies have been creating a very destabilized condition for the Italian university in all its crucial and strategic areas of activity: funding, research, teaching and recruitment/career, students' tuition fee, number of enrolled students and graduates.
