Aquatic hyphomycetes in a canal within the Ticino Park (N Italy) - A qualitative and quantitative determination of aquatic hyphomycetes conidia was carried out from winter 2002 to spring 2003 in a canal of the Ticino Park, at Parasacco (PV). Membrane filtration technique was used in this study. We identified 32 taxa, among these 13 are new records in Italy: Actinosporella megalospora, Articulospora grandis, Camposporium pellucidum, Campylospora parvula, Heliscella stellata, Lemonniera filiformis, Mycocentrospora aquatica, Polycladium equiseti, Pyramidospora casuarinae, Speiropsis sp., Triscelophorus monosporus, Tumularia aquatica and Varicosporium delicatum. Concerning conidia concentration in water a late autumn peak was observed followed by a spring decrease. These preliminary data allow us to consider the area interesting and suitable for further investigations.
