29Si NMR measurements in FeSi up to 900K are reported. Below 350K the spin-lattice relaxation rate and the Knight shift (KS) display behaviors typical of gapped systems and track the homogeneous static susceptibility. In the high temperature range an unexpected effect is observed with static susceptibility and KS leveling around 500K and then decreasing, while relaxation rate continues to increase up to 900 K. Insights on the spin dynamics of Fermi-like carriers in strong correlation are derived.

Abstract
29Si NMR measurements in FeSi up to 900K are reported. Below 350K the spin-lattice relaxation rate and the Knight shift (KS) display behaviors typical of gapped systems and track the homogeneous static susceptibility. In the high temperature range an unexpected effect is observed with static susceptibility and KS leveling around 500K and then decreasing, while relaxation rate continues to increase up to 900 K. Insights on the spin dynamics of Fermi-like carriers in strong correlation are derived.File in questo prodotto:
