In the summer of 2014, a manipulative field experiment was conducted in Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area (North eastern Sardinia) in order to investigate the effects of a mucilaginous bloom of the invasive microalga Chrysophaeum taylorii Lewis & Bryan (Pelagophyceae) on hard benthic macroalgal communities exposed to mechanical disturbance.
