The volume takes its title from the International Summer School [RICH*] - Reuse and Improvement of Cultural Heritage, focuses on the reuse and valorisation of Cultural Heritage, especially abandoned or underused churches and religious complexes. Divided in three parts, it presents some theoretical considerations on these themes and, finally, the [RICH*] design project results. The main purpose has been to develop sustainable design strategies and solutions in order to satisfy the requirements due to new functions, enhancing meanwhile historical and architectural values. The case study is the ex Certosina complex of Palazzo Botta in Pavia, an historical university building and its church.
