Forensic File Carvers analyze digital media to recover data from unallocated space or corrupted file systems. Most of the files recovered this way are complete, but when it is not possible to recover a full file, carvers produce a large number of fragments. The tool presented extracts fragments grammar. It tokenizes the fragments, filters meaningful sequences of tokens, performs grammar induction and then uses the inducted grammar rules to match similar fragments.
