Il Senofane di Roberto Sanesi

Il breve studio si propone di comprendere e far comprendere come un critico e poeta del secondo Novecento italiano, Roberto Sanesi, abbia affrontato i versi di Senofane, uno dei più innovativi pensatori greci preclassici per renderli nella nostra lingua. L’analisi si è fondata sulle carte depositate nel Centro Manoscritti dell’Università di Pavia che documentano le fasi successive del lavoro di Sanesi. Alla luce dei documenti, Sanesi sembra fondare la sua traduzione dei frammenti sulla recente traduzione di uno storico della filosofia antica, Franco Trabattoni, e perfezionarne la resa attraverso la ricerca di una lingua media e concreta che attraverso le immagini possa restituire la base reale e materiale del pensiero che in Grecia, tra VI e V secolo a. C., ha inaugurato la nostra modernità. This short study aims to understand and explain how a critic and a poet of the late Italian twentieth century, Roberto Sanesi, addressed the verses of Senophanes, one of the most innovative pre-classical Greek thinkers, to render them into our language. The analysis has been based on the papers archived in the Centro Manoscritti of the University of Pavia, documenting the successive phases of Sanesi's work. In the light of the papers, Sanesi seems to base his translation of the fragments upon the recent translation of Franco Trabattoni, a historian of ancient philosophy, and to refine it through the search for a plain and concrete language, able to restore the real and material basis of the thought that in Greece, between the VI and the V century a. C., has inaugurated our modernity.
