Ponseti’s method is considered the gold standard in the treatment of Congenital clubfoot. The short-term results are excellent, but after some time relapses may appear. Many authors believe that relapses are directly related with noncompliance of parents in following the therapeutic program; in fact, treatment is challenging in all its phases, even that of correction by applying plaster cast. After a review of critical issues related to this aspect, a new casting technique is described, which allows us to obtain results comparable to those of the original method.

Abstract
Ponseti’s method is considered the gold standard in the treatment of Congenital clubfoot. The short-term results are excellent, but after some time relapses may appear. Many authors believe that relapses are directly related with noncompliance of parents in following the therapeutic program; in fact, treatment is challenging in all its phases, even that of correction by applying plaster cast. After a review of critical issues related to this aspect, a new casting technique is described, which allows us to obtain results comparable to those of the original method.File in questo prodotto:
