The article is meant to focus attention on the project “The stage in the classroom”, an experience carried out with a group of secondary school teachers. The project conjugated the disciplinary dimension of mathematics with the personal dimension of the teachers. Its aim was that of developing, through metaphorical discourse, a deep awareness of one’s own disciplinary and relational resources as well as promoting a welcome attitude towards colleagues and pupils.
