Environment And Economy: Current Themes For A Geographer

The contribution aims to emphasize the need to preserve, protect, manage and develop the “World heritage”, a complex systemic reality in which its animated and inanimate components, too often due to excesses and disharmony, interact with harmful methods for themselves and for the whole system. In addition to an introductory part, aimed at summarizing and motivating the aims of the search for a “useful eco-geography”, basic indications are provided on how geography has evolved and on how the human population is problematically articulated, analyzing the reports “ in giving and having ”of man with living organisms and with physical reality; reports that often disrupt ecosystems, highlighting the need for sustainable development. Furthermore, the topic of environmental protection is addressed, as an opportune conclusion of a work that provides useful considerations on environmental transformations and resource depletion.
