The Shanghai Joint Design Studio is a platform that combines design studios from different universities in different countries and different cultural background with the aims of sharing ideas and wishful thinking on a common project area located in Siping Community, Yangpu District in Shanghai. The Shanghai JDS is both a virtual space and physical space of co-creation and encounter of students, researcher, teachers, designers and citizens. The theme of the JDS is the urban regeneration, renewal and reuse of the area comprised between Siping Road and Chifeng Road near to Tongji University main campus, for the creation of a new TONGJI KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY ZONE.
