This chapter aims to analyze the cultural context in which the architect Adamo Boari was formed. The period from 1863 to 1889 analyzes his training and the first professional experiences prior to his departure on the American continent. The historical framework will help the reader to learn about the economic and social situation of Ferrara at the end of the 19th century and the choices of many young people looking for new territories where to experience their job expectations.
