Adamo Boari returns to Italy at a particularly critical time for the country. The First World War was now near, and economic resources were all concentrated to deal with this sad situation. Although Boari was a well-known character for his work in Mexico, unfortunately he did not have important opportunities in Italy. Only honors and projects never realized. This contribution analyzes some important phases of the return to Italy and above all examines writings and projects on the theme of urban planning for the historic centers.
