The greatest difficulty for Westerners in meeting Eastern culture is due to a strongly Cartesian view which constantly makes us adopt rationalization processes which cannot be easily understood by Easterners. All the same, the most fascinating aspect of our meeting with the East is reading the philosophies underlying the projects of architecture which, even if increasingly pervaded by attempts to culturally opening to the West, is always linked to the roots which have always characterized its living places.
