The transmission of a gift, as cultural heritage to be passed, requires the recognition of a value, a concept that raises a number of questions for its definition. This paper is the result of reflections involved in a wider research that the author is developing. In this phase of the study, the contribution has the purpose of dealing with the concept of the value of cultural heritage. This legacy is the gift received that is handed down to future generations. The following notes relate to discuss problems that are connected with these concepts and definitions should be established.
