From 1960 to 1962 a team of architects and other experts under Alex Kesten direction made a comprehensive survey of the buildings of the Old City of Acre in preparation for drawing up a master plan. The findings of the survey were published in “Acre – the Old City, Survey and Planning, 1962”. This paper describes the main results of this work directed by Alex Kesten and future developments. Since 2001 the Old City of Acre is a World Heritage Site.
