Abstract

The contribution intends to deal with the communicative and erceptive meaning of street art applied to sports venues. Art and graphic language are used to create urban devices aimed at improving the perception of living in the common space. The murals today trigger new urban dynamics, highlighting the artists’ desire to create a real connection with the landscape and architecture. This approach moves the interest of architects and planners: the new concept of street art pushes them to use it in various redevelopment projects. Urban regeneration operations, when applied to peripheral areas, invest particular interest in sports venues. These are a reference point for the community and therefore crucial areas for the creation of new educational centers accessible to all. The meeting point, between street art and sports architecture, becomes inspiration for research on proportional relationships, on shapes and geometries, but also on how these are perceived by the body in motion. The graphics can visually amplify the space dedicated to sport, arousing an emotional involvement and a desire for permanence. The contribution aims to analyze how much the expressions of drawing, painting, and wall sets have weight in sports planning and how much they influence these environments from a communicative point of view, with particular reference to those located in degraded places.
