The volume presents the experience of social theater with fragile elderly, in particular affected by dementia, analyzing the health resources that practices and the performing arts can promote. The essay introduces the question of health in the meaning promoted by WHO and analyzes the condition of the elderly in Italy, with particular reference to the situation in the city of Milan. The following are then considered: the treatment processes (with specific reference to the biopsychosocial approach), the subjects involved, the potential of practices and the performing arts for personal and social health. Finally, the essay considers and analyzes the experiences of social theater taking place in the Alzheimer Cafés in Milan, highlighting methods, work practices, results and evaluation processes.
