Abstract

Archaeological excavations at Kinik Höyük started in summer 2011; a second campaign took place in 2012. The first part of this paper summarises the remains dating to the Medieval and Hellenistic ages that were discovered during these excavations. The paper then describes both monumental remains of stone walls and the archaeological levels found above them, dating to the Late Iron Age, that were uncovered in one of the excavation sectors: operation A Particularly striking were the postsherds with fine trichrome floral decorations discovered in these levels, which date back to the late 7th / first half of the 6th century BC. Lasdy, the appendix at the end of the paper presents a preliminary study of a female clay head, probably from the Hellenistic period.
