Abstract
In the Marsor Quarry of Castellavazzo in 1878 an exceptionally preserved shark spine was found. The fossil was donated to Torquato Taramelli and taken to the Pavia Museum. After an initial study by Francesco Bassani, the specimen followed the troubled vicissitudes of the Museum and remained stored for almost a century and a half. The fossil was “rediscovered” and became the subject to new studies in 2016. Due to its history and characteristics, it is now shown in the new exhibition of the Kosmos Museum.File in questo prodotto:
