The commentary critically focuses on five key themes of Limata’s (2026) paper: the distinction between automation and autonomy in intelligent systems, the (relational) transparency of AI systems, cognitive biases in human–machine interaction, the institutional and political determinants of bias, and the interdisciplinary nature of AI. For each theme, recent evidence and practical implications for psychological research and practice are discussed.
