upraventricular arrhythmias are a group of common rhythm disturbances. The most common treatment strategies include antiarrhythmic drug therapy and catheter ablation. Over the past decade, the latter has been shown to be a highly successful and often curative intervention. To facilitate and optimize the management of patients with supraventricular arrhythmias, the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF), the American Heart Association (AHA), and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) created a committee to establish guidelines for better management of these heterogeneous tachyarrhythmias. This document summarizes the management of patients with supraventricular arrhythmias with recommendations for diagnostic procedures as well as indications for antiarrhythmic drugs and/or nonpharmacologic treatments.

Abstract

upraventricular arrhythmias are a group of common rhythm disturbances.
