Abstract

Even if most of the architectures of the past were built to last forever, many works of contemporary architecture are born with an expiration date, and some of them live until they are actually built. In this setting, the contemporary design for the Olympic Games in London 2012 developed a new design approach that is implemented through the planned transformation of its parts, bearing on the center of architectural debate the duration of life of architecture and of urban transformation.
