Recent developments in international cataloguing are presented. The review includes ICP - International Cataloguing Principles (resulted from the series of IME ICC IFLA Meetings of Experts on an International Cataloguing Code), RDA - Resource Description and Access, the new content standard that will replace AACR, the new provisional consolidated edition of ISBD - International Standard Bibliographic Description, and the new models arising from FRBR Report, i.e. FRAR - Functional Requirements for Authority Records, FRSAR - Functional Requirements for Subject Authority Record, and FRBRoo - Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records object oriented. Developments are described within the general frame of the evolution of libraries, and some weak points are highlighted.
