An alternative to halogen light-curing units, light-emitting diode (LED) technology has recently been proposed for curing dental composites. The purpose of this article is to describe a new LED curing source and to compare the effects of halogen and LED curing units on the shear bond strength of a composite resin used for direct bonding of stainless steel brackets.
