A 23-year-old Indian male (50 kg body weight) presented to the emergency department (ED) with 6 months history of general malaise, anorexia, persistent griping abdominal pain and loss of 15 kg of weight. An abdominal X-ray at admission showed significant abdominal distension and two radiopaque foreign bodies in the caecal and rectal region, respectively. Further investigation revealed poisoning due to lead contaminated ayurvedic remedies.

Abstract
