Plasma Lanysis (RNNA). There was significant difference in these parameters compared to healthy controls. In addition, we assessed the nutritional status and attempted to check for other factors known to influence plasma trace elements levels. Plasma levels of Lanthanum (La) were significantly higher in laryngeal carcinoma than in healthy controls 70,0 ± 6,3 ng/ml (Mean ± D.S.) in laryngeal carcinoma versus 5,5 ±1,2 in controls, P< 0,001. Plasma Cobalt (Co) was also significantly higher in the malignancy (18,8 ± 1,8 ng/ml versus 0,7 ±0,1, p< 0,001). The mean Lanthanides concentration in the plasma of patientwith epicondylitis (humerus) was signifi-thanides, plasma Arsenic and plasma Cobalt levels were evaluated by Neutron Activation Anaantly different from that detected in the normal plasma sample, and plasma As and Co showed a statistically significant increment (p < 0,001), too. The mechanism for these alterations is not yet understood, but this study demonstrates its possible significance in the disorders that were studied. A far more comprehensive study of the basic mechanism of alteration of plasma Lanthanides, Arsenic and Cobalt, and its significance in laryngeal carcinoma and in inflammatory conditions is needed.
