Two farnesane derivatives have been isolated from the inedible mushroom Hebeloma senescens and have been identified as (E)-2,3-epoxy-2,6-dimethyl- 10-methylene-6,11- dodecadiene and (35)-(E)-2,6-dimethyl- 10-methylene-1,6,1 l-dodecatrien-3-ol. This is the first report of farnesane sesquiterpenes in the Basidiomycetes.
