In the architectural debate on the transformation of many European cities, recovery is a current topic in continuous development. The heterogeneous cultural heritage, the definition of new requirements and the lack of free soil have brought the topic of reuse in the foreground, placing some questions about the design strategies to follow. In addition, numerous case studies, with very different outcomes, highlight not only the plurality of cultural views but also the limited coordination of investigation technologies and of the methods used in different contexts. The relative freedom of interpretation on the existing approach to the project, linked to an unsuitable legislation, has often focused the study to find some design strategies that could unify the aims of the different experiences, neglecting the study of the technological approach, the choice of materials and the construction techniques. In particular, through the use of dry technologies, it is possible to address, in the respect of the different project outcomes, the real constructive feasibility of the new project with the existing, in terms of language, of performances and technology requirements.
