The power of the photographic and the developments of the digital image are influencing the way we related with the external environment, bringing us even to change our perception and our way to see our world. This contribution begin from photography birth to its most recent development in the graphic area, to understand the role of this instrument for describe a place: its relationship with the painting arts about the representation of the landscape, through the photograph for documentation of the late nineteenth century, until its latest developments in the area of digital and virtual models.
