Promoting argumentative competencies is one of the main aims in mathematics education, at every school level. After a short introduction about argumentation and problem-solving in documents by Ministry of Education and in research papers, I present an activity carried out in a middle school (grades 6-8). The activity, concerning problems from the cooperative game theory, aimed at promoting decision-making processes, the assumption of different points of view, modelling, and argumentations supporting the different choices and the different proposed solutions.

Abstract
