Water-meadows’ decline and conservation of the related herpetofauna in the Ticino Natural Park - Water-meadows rapidly declined during the last ten years because of the modified agricultural needs. The authors present an analysis of the ecological factors affecting the presence of Amphibians and Reptiles in this habitat. PC A and discriminant analysis show the importance of habitat maintenance and water presence for conservation of existing populations. Some remarks on habitat management are also reported.
