Diseases and parasitism in Amphibians: the possible impact of the herpetological researches. The world-wide decline of Amphibians has been evidenced and proved since the early ’90s and several studies have been performed in order to outline its reasons. Some authors have proved how diseases and parasitism might play an outstanding role in the progressive reduction of Amphibians populations and in several cases suggest that the diffusion of pathologies may have an anthropic origin. Herpetologists often interact with populations of Amphibians, therefore making the diffusion of parasites or infections theorically possible. A proper management of field equipment and controls in the translocations of animals in nature could slightly reduce the risk of unwillingly contributing to Amphibians decline.

Abstract

Animal & Plant Sciences covers resources in animal science, which focus on laboratory animal science and zoology; the plant science resources cover cellular and molecular biology or physiology of plant cells and plant systems. Topics include molecular biology, molecular genetics, plant-microbe interactions, physiology and cell biology, and biochemistry. A limited number of botany and general plant biology resources are also included. Resources on veterinary medicine and veterinary science, husbandry, and general zoology are excluded.
