Some results of the work carried out at the University of Pavia within the European project CON-SCIENCE are reported. The work was initially focussed on the difficulties student teachers show on physics subject in connection with the results of research in physics education. In particular we focussed on the concepts of “heat and temperature” and we studied the conceptions of student teachers who enter our Post Graduate School for teacher preparation and the conceptions of students attending secondary school classes in Pavia.
