Reorganisation of museum storage according to the RE-ORG method. Feasibility study for the Museum of Natural History of the University of Pavia The museum storage areas have always been a topic that has been little discussed. The reasons are different, among then the desire to keep hidden the problems of organization of these areas. In 2011, the RE-ORG Method was born thanks to the cooperation between ICCROM and UNESCO. The method is a guide for reorganize the museum storage, which is also suitable for the analysis and evaluation of the status of these areas. In this context, we adopted the project for the new storages of the Natural History Museum of the University of Pavia. The work focused on the volumetric evaluation of the museum’s collections, so that they could be optimized, defining the location and type of furniture. The project was the subject of a thesis in Conservation at SUPSI in Lugano.
