This is the editio princeps of a fourth-century papyrus codex entitled «Ius Romanum anteiustinianum» by E.A. Lowe in CLA X.1527. The fragments have now been identified as Marcian’s Institutes. They are the first direct witness of this work so far discovered.

Abstract
