Congruence of partners’ point of views constitute a relevant topic in studying interpersonal relationship for theoretical and methodological reasons. This study explores if siblings and friends dyads differ as far as the congruence and links between congruence and the quality of relationship are concerned. Results showed that point of views of friends are congruent, whereas the ones of siblings are not. Moreover, only friends’ dyads (and not siblings’) in which partners’ point of views were more congruent showed also more affection and vice versa. Findings are discussed in relation to the differences in nature between sibling and friend relationships.
