We present 45 outpatients (19 males; 26 females) who asked medical assistance, during the last three years, for psycopathological problems by them ascribed to “mobbing” in the work environment. 15 subjects were employed in public institutions, 30 in private companies. A psychopathological picture reasonably correlable to “mobbing” was diagnosed in 8 subjects only (<20% of the cases), i.e. in a lower proportion than that reported by other investigators (difference probably depending on patients preselection criteria).

Abstract

We present 45 outpatients (19 males; 26 females) who asked medical assistance, during the last three years, for psycopathological problems by them ascribed to “mobbing” in the work environment. 15 subjects were employed in public institutions, 30 in private companies. A psychopathological picture reasonably correlable to “mobbing” was diagnosed in 8 subjects only (<20% of the cases), i.e. in a lower proportion than that reported by other investigators (difference probably depending on patients preselection criteria).
